Puff pastry trees filled with gianduia cream! These butter and cocoa scented sweets are a reminder of a Christmas spent on an island in northern Germany, on the border with Denmark. Outside the window the landscape was completely covered in snow but in the house everything smelled of butter, black tea and candles lit at 5 in the afternoon. Someone will say that I'm more greedy than romantic but the most intense memory I have is that of a fantastic, crumbly and very fragrant pastry!! Making puff pastry is not easy at all but you can find excellent quality puff pastry ready in the supermarket. I used one pack dividing it in two. On one of the two I spread the gianduia cream and covered it with the second sheet.
